Hello & Welcome!
I'm Stephanie, the woman behind the lens of Brooklyn Boudoir.
I’m not here to hype you up with gimmicks. But I AM here to hype you up and create images that make you say, “Oh wow. That’s me,”
Because boudoir photography is about WAY more than physical beauty; it's about confidence & freedom -- the ability to step outside your comfort zone, be brave, and connect with your sensuality, which is powerful and important for us women! There's nothing like feeling confident in your own skin. In a world that feels like’s becoming less and less real every day, you deserve photos that feel intentional, honest, and unmistakably yours.
So while a boudoir session can make a great gift for your loved one, it is more importantly an amazing gift to YOURSELF!
WHY THIS WORK MATTERS
Boudoir, to me, isn’t about “beauty” in the shallow sense — it’s about meeting yourself where you are and showing you for yourself.. It’s about feeling great. It’s found in those moments that don’t need a script — just presence, good light, and somebody who isn’t asking you to perform. Will I guide you? Absolutely yes! But I’ll never force you into wardrobe or poses that don’t feel authentic to you, or try to turn you into someone you’re not. This is about celebrating who you are. No costumes, no “fantasy closet,” no overdone hair and makeup, no old-fashioned filters, no men allowed. Your photos will be real, raw, and 100% YOU.
Most people walk into a boudoir session unsure of what to expect. And most walk out thinking, that was easier than I thought…and way more meaningful than I expected. That’s the part I love the most.
Meet Stephanie
I'm a city girl, born & raised in Brooklyn, NY. I'm a mom to two young girls, love to see the world, and have always fancied the road less-traveled. I believe in saying yes over saying no, and that a bit of bravery can lead to some unforgettable adventures. To me, every woman -- of every age and size -- is inspiring & deserves to feel seen & beautiful. I genuinely love connecting with different women, learning their stories (ALL of which are important), pampering them with a few hours of "me" time, and giving them an opportunity to feel sexy in their skin.
Many boudoir pages will sugarcoat this like it’s a motivational poster. I’ll just tell you: no one ever regrets doing the shoot, in fact, most of my clients come back again and again (don’t say I didn’t warn you).
I believe:
Confidence isn’t a prerequisite for your shoot - it’s the result of showing up for yourself.
When you feel good, you look good.
You don’t need to be perfect to have timeless photos.
Good photography doesn’t shout — it notices.
Your session shouldn’t feel like a performance.
When someone offers to take your photo, the answer is always YES.
This work is truly important.
I’m not about:
costumes or overdone sets
photoshop that erases who you are
filters that distance you from the real thing
Photography trends.
I AM about:
direction you can follow easily & without hesitation
light that feels natural
Classic black and white
images that feel like you and that are worthy of a place on your wall.
I have studied under some of the country's top boudoir photographers, including a mentorship with Kara Marie Trombetta, a maternity masterclass with Lola Melani and a start up class with published boudoir educator Christa Meola. In addition to boudoir photography, I love coffee, New York, and wine (but really, who doesn't?), and have been know to start impromptu dance parties around Brooklyn (pre-kids and pre-COVID, sigh). I have an absurdly large collection of jeans, black jumpsuits and vintage cameras. I am available for boudoir, maternity shoots, motherhood portraits, editorial work, fine art commissions and personal branding. You can find some of my other work, including travel photography, holgas, and more portraits (of men, even!) at expresstrainphoto.tumblr.com
