Do it. Sure at first glance it might be strange and nerve-racking to bare it all in front of someone who is for all intents and purposes a stranger, but once you start, Stephanie is there to help you BE in all your glory. Read everything Stephanie shares in preparation & take your time with the little bit of "homework" ... there's so much wonderful information & elements of the day I wasn't even thinking about until she brought them up, and it all helped to make me feel so incredibly comfy & ready for the day! Once it gets to shoot time, my advice is to just let go and let her take control because she is INCREDIBLE at it and an absolute pro.

Everything about this experience was lovely. Stephanie sent several emails with suggestions and guidelines that prepped me perfectly for the shoot day. On the day that we took photos, she and her make-up artist, made me feel comfortable, taken care of, understood, and empowered. No negative thoughts allowed!
When we had the unveiling, I was wonderfully surprised at how I looked, but also I felt that all of the photos captured "me." This shoot wasn't for anyone else. I'm in my 40s and wanted photos to capture my mood at this point in my life. Some people could call it narcissistic...I choose to look at it as feeling proud of circumstances that I've overcome - and celebrating where I am now.

I was looking for a boudoir shoot as a 20-year anniversary gift for my husband. My experience with Stephanie was magical. She radiates positivity and authenticity. After only a few minutes of chatting, I felt like she could have been one of my close friends from childhood!
Authenticity and rawness were my number one priority for this shoot. I feel more comfortable and prouder of my maturing body now in my mid-forties than when I was younger. I had already done a boudoir shoot five years ago with another photographer - loved the photos, but they felt a bit cheesy / factory style, and did not reflect me completely.
I chose Stephanie out of some other NYC boudoir photographers, because her work is timeless and elegant. Beyond being an unbelievably talented photographer, the vulnerability, authenticity and sexiness that she captures in her photos are breathtaking.
She knows how to capture the beauty of purely being you, which is precious. I see myself 100% in the 50+ photos that we chose. My husband can’t stop looking at them, and we had a hard time narrowing our selection to only 35 to put in the album! We also have plans to hang one of them as wall art in our apartment. Yes, our kids will be looking at it, but Stephanie’s work is so beautiful and tasteful, that we think it will be empowering for our children when they see how confident their mom is in her own skin.
Stephanie is also a great listener. She took the time to understand what I wanted specifically for this shoot. I was looking to add some half-nude and nude shots, and I would say that she’s the best person to cheer you to go for it! There was no awkwardness, no nervousness. In and of itself this was freeing.
Kudos also to her amazing makeup artist who understood exactly what I wanted. I wear very little makeup on an everyday basis. I wanted something very natural, elegant with a touch of sophistication and she got it perfectly!

Having Stephanie capture my figure in a natural setting was outstanding! The experience was empowering and she made it extremely comfortable. Having the opportunity to get hair and make up done before taking my pictures was a bonus. All the prep work Stephanie gave in advance, helps with the day of the photo shoot.
Do it don't hesitate and embrace your body. Stephanie works with you at every step of the way, whether it's working on a payment plan or choosing location for photo shoot. I would do it again in the future!

This was by far one of the best and most empowering experiences of my life. I have always struggled with body image issues, especially in the past year. After talking with Stephanie and seeing these photos, I've truly changed the way I view myself. These pictures make me feel powerful, sexy, and beautiful. At first, I was incredibly nervous about this experience - I was by no means at my "ideal weight" or feeling my sexiest self, however my (now) husband always makes me feel the most confident and beautiful, so I wanted to do these photos for him for our wedding. I channeled that energy throughout the photo shoot, and Stephanie made me feel so incredibly comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. I told her that I would love to just be told what to do to look the best in the photos, and followed her directions to a tee and I absolutely LOVE how they came out! I had a wonderful experience with Stephanie! I was hesitant to get pictures taken because it I have always felt that my body was not boudoir subject material. I went into the shoot as a referral from a friend who gave repeated rave reviews, so I was excited going into it. I instantly felt comfortable with Stephanie and was just really eager to learn from her expertise - I learned a lot from her on how to position for certain poses, and am so grateful for her guidance as the photos turned out so so incredibly! I want to find more excuses to do it again and again, such a fun afternoon and excited to have the evidence to look back on.
Don't think twice and do it!!! It's just as much a gift for yourself as it is for anyone else (if you in fact plan on gifting the photos). Stephanie made me feel so comfortable and sexy, and I don't get to feel that way all the time so it was a really nice treat. Also she gives plenty of guidance so if you've never posed before you will still be great. Lastly, a few sips of prosecco beforehand can help you loosen up if you're feeling self conscious.

If you're thinking about it, do it. Signing up to do a boudoir shoot is probably outside of your comfort zone, so once you're there, you might as well keep going. This is a chance to embrace and give love to all the parts of yourself that you'd usually rather hide away. Don't be afraid to be totally nude, get into weird poses, give the camera your best x-ray stare, and take some very close close-ups. If a camera can accept you as you are, then so can anyone else - and that includes you.

Stephanie understands that posing for professional photos (especially in lingerie or nude) is something out of most women's comfort zone. Stephanie has developed an entire playbook, and I love her process that she walks you through. I love that she gives you step by step guidance from the very beginning of choosing outfits, where to go shopping, how to prepare for the shoot, creating a pinterest board. It helped me walk in the day of the shoot feeling as prepared and ready as possible.

As someone who had never done something like this before, I found the extensive prep guide really helpful. It helped me understand what I could do to maximize the experience and many of the outfits I ended up shooting in I brought as a result of the tips. On the day of the session, I really appreciated the body-positive emphasis throughout the shoot (with the realism of asking is there anything you don't like up front). I thought it was nice to have a variety of settings and lighting and I thought the coaching throughout the session was very helpful as well for someone with no posing experience. On the day of the reveal, I think the system that was used was a wonderful way to both see a variety of pictures but also not be overwhelmed by too many pictures. I could tell that significant time and effort had gone into selecting the pictures that I was presented with and I didn't feel pressured to buy things. Overall, throughout the experience it is evident that Stephanie's top goal is for the client to feel amazing and I think every step was crafted with this in mind.

Everything was amazing! I appreciated the thorough prep guides and communication, but the actual shoot exceeded my expectations. It was very comfortable and Stephanie did a great job of instructing poses and giving optionality. I felt calm, beautiful and confident. The photos came out stunning and the ordering process was also super well organized; I was worried about being indecisive but it ended up being pretty easy to craft a great collection.

I'm one to shy away from taking photos, so was pretty nervous going in. I really loved the entire process. The guide that you send out before the shoot starts was really helpful and I felt like I had a good idea of what we would be doing before I arrived. The hair and makeup person was also really great and helped me get in the right mindset for the shoot. I appreciated all of the direction that you gave me when shooting, the music, etc. all of the little things that helped me feel very comfortable and made it all a lot of fun. I was also nervous I might not look the way that I had hoped that I would look in the final product, but I am so happy with how the photos came out.
What advice do you have for others considering doing a boudoir session?: I would say not to bring anything that you aren't sure about/that doesn't fit well. I think looking at photos in advance and having an idea of the kind of look that you want is helpful too. I would say just have fun with it! Don't overthink it and just relax and try to feel pretty and confident. Also don't worry about small imperfections because Stephanie will touch them up.

I was skeptical to begin with, because most of the women shown on Stephanie's website don't look like me. But she reassured me and I took the chance and I'm so glad I did. The day of the shoot was genuinely so much fun; like hanging out with friends. The makeup artist did a terrific job (I've never looked better!), and we all gabbed about our lives and talked each other up and in general created an atmosphere of real positivity and empowerment. That really set the tone and made the shoot itself feel comfortable and exciting.
There's nothing to be afraid of, and it's definitely worth the money if you can afford it. I'll treasure these pictures forever, for sure.
